Gila County Hare Scrambles

Local Racing Organization Chosen To Host National Caliber Event Portion of Proceeds To Go Towards Promoting Responsible OHV Use MESA, AZ
The Arizona Motorcycle Riders Association (AMRA) will hold the eighth round of the American Motorcyclist Association (AMA) National Hare Scrambles Series, hosted by the Rock Stars Motorcycle Club (RSMC), in Globe, AZ, over the weekend of October 21 and 22, 2007.
“The Gila County Hare Scrambles is expected to be one of the best attended off-road races in Arizona over the last 10 years,” said Todd Johnson, president of the RSMC. This event will be the fifth round for AMRA’s 2007 series. The best riders from across the nation are slated to attend and challenge the local Pros for top honors.
The event will be held at the Gila County Fairgrounds Complex in Globe, Arizona, a quaint town rich in mining, history and charm, located about 75 miles east of Phoenix.
The event will have a four-race format spreading across both days, which will include a spectator-friendly course of tight trails, dirt roads, sandwashes, and an Endurocross section. There will also be a kid’s race on a shortened course.
Up and coming local rock band Jeff Senour and CTS will be performing Saturday night on the Fairgrounds main stage.

Responsible off-highway vehicle recreation and maintaining access to riding areas on public land are important issues to AMRA and RSMC and the off-road community. For this reason, a large portion of the proceeds from this event will be donated directly to the Arizona Off-Highway Vehicle Coalition (AZOHVC), a nonprofit statewide incorporated association of Arizona recreation enthusiasts and others involved in Off Highway Vehicle (OHV) recreation.
Their mission is to protect and secure shared trail access for OHV and other recreationalists. AMRA and RSMC Arizona Motorcycle Riders Association was formed in 2004 by a group of off-road enthusiasts whose goal is to add more racing opportunities throughout Arizona. Their intent and purpose is to help organize Arizona racing and cooperate with local motorcycle clubs to promote events. The Rock Stars Motorcycle Club is a family oriented Arizona off-road motorcycle club whose mission is not only to put on off-road motorcycle events but also preserve the sacred riding areas for trail riding and family outings. They are committed to working with any and all Land Managers or Administrators to the fullest extent of the law to create and maintain positive OHV opportunities for Rock Stars and all other OHV enthusiasts. The goal is to preserve these areas for present and future use. For more information on this event, please contact:
